Sheridan County is the Ninth County to Seek the Designation "Livestock Friendly"
Rushville, NE - Sheridan County Commissioners voted unanimously on Monday to submit an application to the State Department of Agriculture to become the 9th Nebraska County officially recognized as "Livestock Friendly." Once the application is completed and submitted, it will be in the hands of the SDA to grant Sheridan County the "Livestock Friendly" designation.
If and when the designation is granted, "Livestock Friendly" signs will be attached to all Sheridan County signs on highways entering the county. In addition, upon designation, the county is also free to use the "Livestock Friendly" label in any and all advertisement and official county materials.
Be reminded that this designation does not supersede any of the county's present zoning laws and in and of itself is useful only if the county chooses to use it as an advertising and marketing tool.
